Below are just some of the victories Senator Roth has delivered for Inland Southern California and all Californians.

Expanding Healthcare Access

Roth delivers on his signature campaign pledge to fully fund the UC Riverside School of Medicine, helping to train hundreds of new primary care physicians.

Increasing Access to Higher Education

Roth organizes the first-ever “Pathways to Higher Education” workshops in school districts through Riverside County, helping over 1,000 high school students and their families navigate the college admissions and financial aid process.

Housing for Veterans

Roth co-authors the 2014 Veterans Housing and Homeless Prevention Bond Act, helping to provide $600 million to build transitional and supportive housing for California’s veterans. Over $12 million have already been approved for Riverside County projects since.

Creating Jobs

Roth authors the bill to create thousands of new jobs throughout California in the aerospace industry, helping advance our national security mission.

Economic Development

Roth helps enact the California Economic Development Initiative, providing incentives for small businesses looking to move or expand in California. Over $24 million in tax credits to spur economic development have been awarded since 2014.

Supporting the Americans with Disabilities Act

Governor Brown signs Roth’s proposal to ensure business owners have the education, training and resources necessary to comply with federal and state disability access laws, helping provide Californians with disabilities full and fair access to facilities and services.

Helping Disabled Veterans

With the US Department of Veterans Affairs facing a shocking backlog of veterans’ disability claims, Roth deploys a California “Strike Team” to defeat the backlog and pay over $35 million in disability claim back payments and over $52 million per year in on-going disability payments to California veterans.

Investing in Infrastructure

Roth successfully negotiates $427 million in state funding for critical infrastrucutre improvement projects in Riverside County.

Improving Access to Justice

To improve access to justice, Roth secures funding for new judges in Riverside County, including the first new Appellate Justice position in California in nearly 20 years.

Saving Our Cities

Roth wins a longtime battle to restore funding to four new California cities – Jurupa Valley, Eastvale, Menifee and Wildomar. While every other California city received these funds, these four cities had their funding revoked through no fault of their own.

Increasing Nursing Programs

Roth develops a two-county pilot program to help meet our nursing shortage, bringing together CSUs in San Bernardino and Fullerton, and Riverside Community Colleges. The program will help increase nurses in medically-underserved regions and deliver critically-needed healthcare.

Creating Jobs

Roth achieves a major victory by successfully bringing the California Air Resources Board’s vehicle emissions testing facility to UC Riverside, creating over 400 new jobs.

Jobs for Veterans

Roth successfully negotiates with the Governor to secure over $1.7 million in continued funding for California’s Work for Warriors program, a highly successful job placement program for service members, veterans, and their spouses.

Expanding Healthcare Access

Roth delivers $40 million in new medical residency slots to train doctors in medically underserved areas like Riverside County, $15 million to establish a tele-psychiatry program at the UCR School of Medicine, and $2 million in ongoing funding to expand pediatric physician residency programs throughout California.

Expanding Healthcare Access

Roth shepherds through funding to expand the UCR School of Medicine and double its capacity from 250 to 500 physicians-in-training.

Protecting Our Natural Resources

Roth’s proposal to preserve and protect the Mojave Desert aquifer, vegetation and wildlife is signed by Governor Newsom.

Improving Access to Justice

Roth delivers funding to create 25 new trial court judges, helping solve a dire shortage of judges and alleviate an overburdened justice system.

Supporting Special Education

Roth helps increase funding by $600 million for Special Education in California.

Supporting Our Students

Roth extends CalGrant elgibility for summer term students at UC and CSU campuses, and expands the State’s competitive CalGrant program by $30 million and 11,000 additional slots.

Supporting Our Veterans

Roth expands Community College Veterans Resource Centers, delivering $5 million in funding and ensuring our veterans on community college campuses have the resources they need to overcome the unique challenges they face and succeed.

Supporting Mental Healthcare

Roth delivers over $65 million in new funding to support mental healthcare service in K-12, community college, CSU and UC campuses throughout California.
