Support for Roth grows as third Supervisor to endorse Roth says, "We can count on him"
(Riverside, CA) -- Senator Richard D. Roth's campaign announced today that Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley has endorsed General Roth for re-election to the State Senate.
"General Roth is a bipartisan leader and a true champion for Riverside County in the State Senate," said Supervisor Marion Ashley. "General Roth has delivered funding for jobs for our veterans, is fighting to preserve March Air Reserve Base and to save Riverside County's four newest cities. General Roth has a proven track record of delivering for our region and we can count on him to continue to be our strongest advocate in Sacramento."
A native of Riverside County, Supervisor Ashley has represented Riverside County's 5th Supervisorial District, which includes the cities of Moreno Valley and Perris, since 2002. Prior to that, he served as a Riverside County Planning Commissioner and was an elected member of the Board of Eastern Municipal Water District.
"I am truly honored to receive Supervisor Ashley's endorsement, and I look forward to working with him to make Riverside County an even greater place to call home," said Senator Roth. "From fighting to save our four newest cities to supporting our veterans as they return home, I will continue to make our region's issues my top priority in the State Senate."
In recent weeks, Senator Roth's re-election campaign has won noteworthy endorsements from a growing list of community leaders. Supervisor Ashley joins two other Supervisors, John Tavaglione and John J. Benoit, in coming out early in support of General Roth. Just a few weeks ago, Superintendent of Schools Kenneth M. Young, Riverside County's top education leader, also endorsed General Roth, praising him as "education's greatest ally."
