Former Corona-Norco School Board president praises General Roth's bipartisan leadership, commitment to region's students and families
(Corona, CA) -- Today, General Richard Roth's re-election campaign announced former Corona-Norco Unified School District Board president Bill Hedrick has endorsed General Roth for re-election to the State Senate.
"I am excited to endorse General Richard Roth for re-election to the State Senate," said former Corona-Norco USD Board president Bill Hedrick. "As one of the first to support General Roth when he ran in 2012, I knew he would stand up for our region in Sacramento. Since his election, General Roth has been a bipartisan leader who has worked hard to improve the lives of all Inland Southern Californians, especially our students and families. By making education one of his top priorities in Sacramento, General Roth has shown he is a champion for our region and will continue fighting to improve the lives of all students."
When he retired from the Corona-Norco School Board, Hedrick had been the Board's longest serving member. The son of a teacher, Hedrick spent over 35 years as an educator and advocate for Inland Southern California's students and families. His family has a long history of public service: his wife of 35 years, Beth, is also a teacher and two of their sons and daughters-in-law are all veterans of the Iraq War.
"I am truly honored to receive the endorsement of Bill Hedrick," said General Roth. "Bill has been one of Inland Southern California's most extraordinary and passionate public servants, dedicating his life and career to improving the lives of all students and families. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Bill and leaders like him to prepare our students to be competitive in the 21st century's global economy."
Hedrick joins a long list of community and elected leaders in supporting General Roth's re-election, including current Corona-Norco USD Board Member Mary Ybarra who declared Inland Southern California as "truly better off with General Roth" in the State Senate. Riverside County Superintendent of Schools Kenneth M. Young has also thrown his early support behind General Roth, praising him as "education's greatest ally."
