Momentum builds as yet another key local leader throws support behind General Roth
(Riverside, CA) -- Senator Richard D. Roth’s campaign announced today that Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit has endorsed General Roth for re-election to the State Senate.
“Senator Roth has worked across party lines to get things done for Inland Southern California,” said Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit. “Senator Roth is the kind of leader we need - someone who will roll up his sleeves and solve real problems for our communities and our families.”
Supervisor Benoit currently represents Riverside County’s 4th Supervisorial District and previously served in the California State Senate representing the 37th District. A former California Highway Patrol Commander, Benoit was the first State Senator with a full-time law enforcement background since former Riverside County Undersheriff Robert Presley, who retired in 1994. Prior to serving in the State Senate, Benoit represented the 64th Assembly District in the California State Assembly.
“It is an honor to have the support of Supervisor Benoit, a true public servant who has dedicated his life to serving Riverside County,” said Senator Roth. “Public service should be about working together, and I will continue to bring Democrats and Republicans together to deliver real results for Inland Southern California.”
With his endorsement, Supervisor Benoit becomes the second Riverside County supervisor to throw his support behind General Roth. Last week, Senator Roth’s campaign announced the endorsement of 2nd District Supervisor John Tavaglione, who lauded Roth’s leadership in delivering full funding for the UC Riverside School of Medicine and fighting to save Riverside County’s four newest cities.
